Phil as Alfred? Hell no! Phil is that backbone of law enforcement Commissioner Gordon! Who else sent up the batsignal night after night to bring the Caped Crusader swinging in to put evildoers to flight?

Who is this Batman? Some sort of genetic experiment? Some bat wielding psycho? Catwoman?

Love to see her get into a fight with Supergirl. Rrrrrrrowl.

Remember, too, Jerry dumped Bobby for a few weeks--anyone think those Heartbeats shows are any the worse for it?

Still, Bobby had better hair.

For what it's worth I think that the Mickey and the Hartbeats shows, while historically interesting, were just not as good as the full-strength Grateful Dead. Bob counted.

Synchronicity (however you spell it) strikes again...

Just listening in on the same wavelength, WT.

To be honest, I do (Heartbeats...). I am a bigger Bobby basher than almost anyone, BUT I have been forced to admit that as opposed to 10-12-68 or 10-13-68, I CANNOT listen to the same October shows by the Heartbeats over and over again...there is a difference, and I like them better with PP & Bobby...I know that it is not defensible from a pure music appreciation stance, but it is the case for me. I have considered it over and over again, and find it tough to rationalize...

I'd put Bill Graham as the Commissioner. Who else had the ability to pick up the DeadPhone or shine the DeadLight and get the boys to show up to battle evil any place at any time?

This enitre analogy has the serious drawback of creating a rather disturbing mental image of Jerry sliding down the Bat Pole.

Or sticking his head into the Batcave.

Yes, the October Dead shows are fantastic, but it is interesting to listen to the stripped down band as well. I think the Heartbeats without Jerry--that would be worse.

And, of course, they were missing Pig--which is to say they were missing a lot.
